Stop. The. Bans.
American Physicians Speak Out

Stop. The. Bans. American Physicians Speak Out is the ACLU of Georgia’s original video series that discusses what would happen to women’s healthcare were an abortion ban to go into effect. The videos include 19 physicians from diverse disciplines: obstetrics and gynecology, cardiology, emergency medicine, family medicine, psychiatry, psychology, internal medicine, maternal fetal medicine, and oncology.

Why we created the video series

Since the Georgia legislature passed the abortion ban, we have received questions about what it means for women’s healthcare. We went to the experts – American physicians who provide healthcare for women – and asked them.

We asked physicians in a number of different disciplines out of the awareness that the effect of this law went far beyond limiting or eliminating access to abortion care, as detrimental as that would be by itself. This law has even greater implications for women to access to healthcare, period.

Let Her Decide Videos

We conducted focus groups that resulted in two video compilations titled Let Her Decide #1 and Let Her Decide #2. Each have a different focus.

Let Her Decide #1 is focused on women who remember the situation for women pre-RoeLet Her Decide #2 is focused on women who matured after Roe v Wade became law.
We encourage you to view these with your friends, colleagues, family members, and networks and then discuss your reactions. We have provided a few questions for consideration followed by suggestions for taking action: Let us know how it went! Email us at volunteer@acluga.org.
