First Amendment Rights and Legal Observer Training

@ 8:00 pm

Are you unsure of what the First Amendment protects and how it protects you? Do you need to brush up on your First Amendment knowledge?

Do you want to stand up for Georgians’ civil rights and protect the First Amendment rights of protesters?

Attend training with the ACLU of Georgia to to learn all about your First Amendment rights and/or become a Legal Observer.

Legal observers add extra eyes and ears to protect free speech at protests. During protests, legal observers are trained to safeguard protesters’ rights by recording instances of intimidation, harassment, and legal violations. You do not have to train again if you have already trained to become a legal observer in the last two years.

This training is possible with help from our community partners, Good Trouble Lab, Southern Center for Human Rights, Georgia Youth Justice Coalition, and the Georgia First Amendment Foundation.

Light refreshments will be served. If you have any questions, please email [email protected].
