One of the main ways in which the ACLU of Georgia attempts to effectuate change on civil liberties issues is through involving ourselves in the legislative session of the Georgia General Assembly. The bills created in the Georgia General Assembly can have large civil liberties implications, and we would not be fulfilling our mission to the fullest extent possible if we did not participate in the discourse surrounding these large policy decisions. Below are our legislative agendas for the past few years. They show what bills we have taken an interest in and what our positions on them were. If you are interested in chipping into our legislative efforts, please sign up for our action alerts to stay informed and/or attend one of our "By The People Lobby Days." Both are great ways to make a positive difference in the public policy process!
