WHAT
On Saturday, October 18, Metro Atlantans will mobilize against President Trump’s escalating abuse of power at a No Kings rally at the Atlanta Civic Center. This nationwide day of action builds off protests in June, which saw 5 million people take to the streets to condemn the Trump administration’s attacks on our communities. More than 2,300 events are set to take place in all 50 states, with more than 30 events in Georgia alone.
WHO
The rally is organized by the ACLU of Georgia and the Indivisible Georgia Coalitionin response to the Trump administration’s shocking actions since June protests, including attempting to silence working journalists, students, and political opponents; demanding that lawmakers redraw electoral maps to help his party win elections; and sending masked federal agents to arrest people without due process and deporting them to torture prisons thousands of miles away.
Andrea Young, executive director of the ACLU of Georgia, will be among speakers from other partner organization and performers at the rally.
