OPEN POSITIONS:
The ACLU of Georgia seeks a dynamic, strategic, and mission-driven Communications Director to lead its Communication Department and serve as a member of the organization’s leadership team. The Communications Director plays a critical role in advancing the organization’s integrated advocacy efforts statewide, ensuring the development and execution of comprehensive communications initiatives across traditional and digital platforms.
Internships
ACLU of Georgia welcomes interns each spring, summer, and fall across legal, policy, communications, community engagement, and voter access teams. We accept students at all levels, including high school, undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate.
Interns in this position will gain valuable experience in policy by working closely with staff on a wide variety of issues. They will analyze policies and draft memos on proposed legislation and existing Georgia laws. Interns will also monitor legislative hearings and governmental meetings to take detailed notes. They may also assist with community engagement activities and training and organizing volunteers.
Community Engagement Internship
Interns with the Community Engagement Manager, will gain hands-on experience in grassroots organizing, coalition building, and community outreach strategy in support of ACLU of Georgia’s advocacy priorities. They will support active community engagement campaigns, contribute to activist and advocacy programs, and assist with outreach efforts across the state. This internship is a good fit for students interested in civil rights advocacy, community organizing, strategy, or nonprofit campaign work who are looking to build practical skills in a mission-driven environment.
