"Whatever our personal feelings about abortion, no one has the right to judge a woman’s circumstances. The voices of women have been overlooked as politicians seek to control women’s decisions. 'Jane' is about real women and the real decisions women make," said Andrea Young, executive director, ACLU of Georgia.
“Having grown up in a time before Roe, I know all too well the harrowing decisions women had to make. This film allows viewers - many of whom do not know life before Roe - to more deeply understand the risks women had to take,” stated Sherry Frank, President, National Council of Jewish Women Atlanta section. “Our hope is this spurs ongoing action to protect this fundamental right to choose we fought so hard for.”
"We fought for women's freedom to determine when or whether to have a child, because we understood how fundamental this decision is for women and our families. The current attacks on reproductive rights across this country are a painful attempt to reassert control over women’s decisions with particularly harmful impact on lower income women. Just as we did in the 1960s, we will continue to organize to protect women and our families,” stated Heather Booth, founder of JANE, an underground abortion service founded before Roe.
