WHAT:

A Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Election Procedures hearing in Americus, Sumter County on Thursday, October 16. The committee is studying and evaluating current election policies and providing advice for new election laws ahead of the 2026 Legislative Session.

The statewide series of hearings concludes with a final session in Americus. Rachel Glover, associate director of the ACLU of Georgia Voter Access Project, will present on voter accessibility, including voting machines, polling places, and the efficient administration of elections. The committee will also take public comment; anyone can sign up. In these meetings, the ACLU of Georgia has focused on voter access challenges for local residents and preventing the spread of misinformation about elections.

The meeting is expected to last several hours, if not longer. Public comment has been occurring at the end of the meetings.
