Rallies in 1,600+ cities call out Trump’s $100 million taxpayer-funded parade to send a message that the government must serve the people — not the president

ATLANTA — On Saturday, June 14, Georgians will join what is expected to be the largest single-day mobilization since Donald Trump returned to office — a massive, nationwide protest rejecting attempts to further limit our First Amendment rights and use the federal government to attack political rivals, stifle dissent, and undermine checks and balances on presidential power.

The ACLU has sued the Trump administration for banning books in Department of Defense public schools, mobilized to protect Medicaid from cuts, and blocked many of the worst immigration attacks launched by the administration, among countless other actions. Across the country, millions of ACLU supporters have shown up at Know Your Rights trainings, contacted members of Congress, or asked state and local officials to defend our rights.

The ACLU of Georgia and other progressive organizations will gather with supporters at Liberty Plaza in Atlanta. Trump’s actions have heavily impacted the state, with cuts to the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention, attacks on DEI in education, and immigration arrests. People are coming together across the state to fight these abuses of power.
