“We’re deeply disappointed that the governor would allow legislation of this sort to go into law. Georgia code already includes protections for police. This terrible bill was drafted as a direct swipe at Georgians’ participating in the Black Lives Matter protests who are asserting for their constitutional rights,” said Andrea Young, executive director of the ACLU of Georgia.
