Saturday morning at 8am on WCLK's The Local Take I speak with Andrea Young, executive director ACLU - Georgia about the ACLU 100 Tour. The ACLU works to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties guaranteed by the Constitution and laws of the United States. The ACLU 100 Tour comes to Atlanta at the Historic 4th Ward Park on May 5th from 11am - 6pm. Their theme "The Future We Dare To Create."
The event includes an appearance by Ambassador Andrew Young and a musical performance by Gritz And Jelly Butter. This event is open to the public.
The ACLU fights to build the country that we all want. From Congress to courts to the streets the ACLU fights to reduce prison populations, protect immigrants and ensures that every citizen has the constitutional right to vote.
Ms. Young explains that the event is for families, seniors, kids, everyone is encouraged to attend. There will be interactive exhibits, mobile exhibitions, food and ice cream from their official co-sponsor Ben & Jerry's. There will also be live entertainment. Please RSVP to attend.
