ATLANTA -- The American Civil Liberties Union of Georgia issued the following statement regarding a Cobb County police officer stating "remember, we only shoot black people" to a white woman during a traffic stop.
“Under zero circumstances is it ever appropriate to joke about police officers committing murder,” stated Andrea Young, executive director for the ACLU of Georgia. “The Cobb County Police Department must aggressively pursue diversity and cultural competency training as well as meticulously keep records of police stops to correct this inappropriate behavior by those sworn to protect and serve their communities.”
